Heads of nuclear authorities of Russia and Iran have met in Vienna
The head of the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy (Rosatom) Sergey Kiriyenko and the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Gholam Reza Agazade have met in the framework of the 51st IAEA General Conference in Vienna.
Interfax reports that Kiriyenko and Agazade met tete-a-tete for over an hour. They refused to comment on the results of their talks. On Tuesday Kiriyenko made a speech at the conference.
Russian Atomstroyexport is building the first Iranian NPP in Bushehr. The plant was to be launched in Sept 2007 but because of a number of problems, particularly, Iran’s failure to provide timely financing, the project has been delayed. The date of the launch is still undetermined.
