Head of Rostekhnadzor congratulates employees of nuclear power industry on their professional holiday

Dear employees and veterans of the nuclear power industry of Russia

I would like to congratulate you on your professional holiday – the Day of Nuclear Power Industry Worker.

We have created an absolutely new industry, the nuclear shield of our Fatherland, we have made the atom serve the cause of peace. 

In the last years our industry has made a great breakthrough. We have drafted and adopted an ambitious development program and have started large-scale construction of nuclear power plants.

I would like to note that, today, our nuclear power plants are very safe and no accidents like Chernobyl are possible there.

All of you have a big role in it.

Today, nuclear energy is the locomotive of our economy. We are open to international cooperation: the best example is the establishment of an international uranium enrichment center at Angarsk Electrolytic Chemical Combine. The center has already started to work and is making an invaluable contribution to the strengthening of the non-proliferation regime and the development of the peaceful nuclear power industry.
