Rosatom state corporation is to be established in the first quarter of 2008

Rosatom state corporation is to be established in the first quarter of 2008, says the head of the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy Sergey Kiriyenko.

To remind, on Thursday State Duma approved the first reading of a bill on the establishment of Rosatom state nuclear energy corporation.

Kiriyenko says that the second reading of the bill is scheduled for Nov. “If in Nov State Duma adopts the bill, in Dec it may be ratified by the President.” He says that the key task of the Corporation is to consolidate all segments of the nuclear industry and to form a single management system for effective control of the whole complex, including military and civil nuclear companies, research institutes and nuclear and radiation safety agencies. “This is a guarantee that the Government will implement a single effective policy in the sphere,” says Kiriyenko.
