By 2020 the nuclear power machinery complex will receive orders worth 1.300trl RUR

By 2020 the nuclear power machinery complex will receive orders worth 1.300trl RUR, the head of the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy (Rosatom) Sergey Kiriyenko told journalists while summing up the results of the Nov 2 meeting of the governmental committee on industry, technologies and transport concerning the prospects of nuclear energy development in Russia.

“This is really huge money but with very tough requirements to quality and terms,” Kiriyenko said.

He pointed out that the state should not finance the nuclear power machinery complex twice – by immediate support and by simultaneous state contracts. “The industry should be supported through state contracts.”

“We should not place all competitive companies under the control of the state and Rosatom. For example, with Izhora Plants we have had long negotiations jointly with Gazprombank, who has bought the plant’s shares from a private investor.”

“I think that, shortly, we will conclude an agreement and will jointly manage the investment and development program of Izhora Plants,” Kiriyenko said.

He noted that the cooperation with Gazprombank is very important to Rosatom as Izhora Plants need quite big investments.
