3rd unit of Novovoronezh NPP was stopped by automatic security system on Nov 3 2007 11:20 AM

The stoppage was caused by a failure of the checkout circuit.

According to preliminary information, it was a “zero” incident on the INES scale.

The plant is operating safely and efficiently.

The radiation background at Novovoronezh NPP and in the nearby area is within norm.

Since the unit was to be stopped for planned repairs in the next few days, the management of the plant decided to start the repairs ahead of time.

The unit is to be restarted on Nov 13 2007.
