Turbine generator 8 of Kursk NPP was stopped by automatic safety system on Nov 5 2007

The incident is being investigated. The capacity of unit 4 has been halved to 510MW.

The plant is operating safely. The radiation background at the plant and in the nearby area is within norm.

As soon as the trouble is removed, the turbine will be restarted.
