State Duma adopts federal law on establishment of Rosatom State Corporation

State Duma has approved the third reading of the bill on the establishment of Rosatom state corporation

The bill has been drafted on the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation and stipulates the reorganization of the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy (Rosatom) into Rosatom State Corporation for Nuclear Energy. The Corporation will comprise Atomenergoprom OJSC, nuclear weapons complex, research institutes and nuclear and radiation safety agencies.

The objective of the Corporation is to unite state policy and management system in the field of use of nuclear energy, to ensure stable work of nuclear power and nuclear weapons producers, to guarantee nuclear and radiation safety and to create favorable conditions for stable work of the defense sector.
