Fair of high technology medical projects Atommed 2007 took place in Moscow on Nov 22
The agenda of the event included a fair of Rosatom innovative medical projects, a conference, presentations, roundtables, business meetings. The projects represented companies and researchers specializing in radiation bio-physics, radio-pharmaceutics, radio-isotopes for medicine, diagnostics, cardiology, roentgenology, tomography, restorative medicine, medical equipment.
The head of the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy S.Kiriyenko, his advisor A.Malyshev and the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Health Care T.Yakovleva welcomed the participants and guests of the fair. They pointed out the unique scientific potential of the national nuclear industry in the field of design of high-tech medical equipment and the necessity of complex approach to the development and realization of innovative projects. They said that it was necessary to find an adequate organizational form for introduction of innovative projects in the health care system.
The key topics of the roundtables were provision of hospitals with high-tech equipment, training of personnel for high-tech medicine, search for new investment mechanisms, promotion of Rosatom’s radiological diagnostic systems, equipment for nuclear and general medicine, development of production of radio-isotopes for medicine. Representatives of Russian Railways company shared their experience of introduction of high technologies in medicine.
Over 100 projects were submitted to the fair. The projects were examined by an expert jury as to their innovativeness, preparedness for application, economic appeal and competitiveness.
There were two expert groups: equipment and technologies for nuclear medicine and equipment and technologies for non-nuclear medicine. The groups comprised specialists from Roszdravnadzor (Russian Medical Control Service), N.V.Sklifosovsky Institute for Emergency Medical Aid, Sechenov Medical Academy (Moscow), Russian Cardiological Complex, Medical Radiology Center, Health Care Department of Russian Railways, MedSi, Association of Experts of Atom Innovation Center and some Moscow medical universities. The experts specialized in radiation bio-physics, radio-pharmaceutics, cardiology, roentgenology, tomography, restorative medicine, medical equipment.

NIIEFA FSUE (Research Institute of Electro-physical Equipment) with project “National Complex for Conformal Radio-therapy on the Basis of Electron Accelerators” in nomination “Equipment and Technologies for Nuclear Medicine: Therapy.”
Bio-physics Institute with project “Nano-colloid Technetium-99m for Intra-Operative Visualization of Sentinel Glands” in “Radio-isotopes for Medicine” nomination.
Institute of High Energy Physics with project “Small-Dose X-ray System” in “Roentgenology” nomination.
Red Star with project “Serial Production of Stents” in “Cardiology” nomination.
Conversion SPC with project “Design and Serial Production of Equipment for Infusion-Transfusion Therapy” in “Therapy” nomination.
Medical Innovative Technologies Ltd with project “Laboratory for Complex Screening Noninvasive Diagnostics” in “Diagnostics” nomination.
VNIIEF FSUE (All-Russian Research Center Institute of Experimental Physics) with project “Small Roentgen Systems for Sterilization of Donated Blood, Implants and Medical Instruments” in “Hospital Equipment” nomination.
