1st unit of Volgodonsk NPP restarted

1st unit of Volgodonsk NPP has been restarted

The 1st unit of Volgodonsk Nuclear Power Plant was restarted on Nov 26 2007 at 3:13 AM after the detection and removal of the problem in the electric protection system of the transformer unit.

To remind, the 1st unit of Volgodonsk NPP was stopped on Nov 25 2007.

Presently, the electric capacity of the unit is 900MW. The plant is operating safely and efficiently.

The radiation situation at Volgodonsk NPP and in the nearby area is within norm.
