Rosatom labor agreement prolonged for 1 year without change

Rosatom Committee for Regulation of Social and Labor Relations held a regular meeting on Nov 23 2007

The meeting was chaired by the deputy head of the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy (Rosatom) T.Elfimova. The representatives of Rosatom, the Union of Employers of Nuclear Industry and the Trade Union of Nuclear Industry summed up the results of the fulfillment of the Rosatom labor agreement in Jan-June 2007 and considered prolonging the agreement for one year.

The head of the Department of Social Programs of Rosenergoatom Concern V.Cherkasov reported on the labor and remuneration situation in the industry. He said that in Jan-June 2007 81% of the nuclear organizations – especially engineering companies — increased their outputs as compared with Jan-June 2006. In Jan-June 2007 the average monthly salary in Rosatom grew by 24.3% (in industry by 22.4%, at NPPs by 36.6%, in research and design companies by 22.4%, in engineering companies by 66.4%).

The member of the committee’s labor protection group S.Ovsyannikov reported on the labor protection situation in the industry. Referring to the Statistical Service of Russia, he said that the injury rate in the nuclear industry is 3.5 times lower than the average index in Russia.

The Committee pointed out positive changes in the social and labor protection situation in the industry and decided to prolong the Rosatom labor agreement for one year without making changes to it.
