Rosenergoatom Concern is taking part in the first preventive maintenance of Tianwan NPP

The maintenance was started on Nov 25 2007 and will last till Feb 2008. Seven Russian contractor companies are taking part in the campaign: Atomtekhenergo OJSC, Hydropress FSUE, Izhora Group OJSC, Power Machines OJSC, CKBM FSUE, UETM-Montazh Ltd. The work is being carried out by joint Russian-Chinese repair crews.

“This is the first time we are consulting our Chinese colleagues. Technical support and consultation are stipulated by the contract between Rosenergoatom Concern and Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation (JNPC),” says Anatoly Kirichenko, the head of Rosenergoatom’s Department for International Activities.

The contract between Rosenergoatom Concern and JNPC took force in July 2007. The document says that Rosenergoatom should provide China with technical support and engineering services in repairing, controlling and testing significant equipment during the first preventive maintenance of the 1st unit of Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant.

Tinawan NPP has been built by Atomstroyexport specialists. It is one of the biggest projects of the Russian-Chinese economic cooperation. The plant operates improved reactor systems WWER-1000/428 with turbine К-1000–60/3000
