Turbine generator 4 of Smolensk NPP restarted

Turbine generator 4 of unit 2 of Smolensk NPP was restarted on Jan 24 2008 at 9:33 PM

The turbine was stopped on Jan 24 2008 by automatic protection system. The stoppage posed no threat to the plant and the nearby area.

Presently, all the three units are in service.

The radiation background at Smolensk NPP and in the nearby area is within norm.
