«EPCM Awards 2007» awarding ceremony is to take place in Moscow on Mar 21

The ceremony of awarding of the National Prize in Engineering and Project Management «EPCM Awards 2007» is to take place in Moscow on Mar 21 in the framework of conference «Management of Investment Projects: Solutions for Consumers and EPC/EPCM Companies.»

EPC/EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management) is a relatively new term for the big Russian business but is already wide spread. It means a complex approach to the implementation of big investment projects (for example, projects to build power plants, factories, big manufacturing facilities, etc.) when an EPC/EPCM contractor implements a project on a «turn key» basis: starting from engineering and procurement to construction and management.

Today, Russia has a very big market EPC/EPCM services (worth billions of US dollars). EPC/EPCM approach is actively applied to projects in the energy sector, the oil, gas and mining industries as well as in the fields of development and infrastructure construction. There are lots of big players on the market: both traditional, like Technopromexport OJSC, Atomstroyexport CJSC, Stroytransgaz OJSC, and new ones like Russian Engineering Company, E4 Group, Intertechelectro-New Generation. Big foreign EPC/EPCM companies are also active on the market.

EPCM Awards 2007 is granted in the following nominations: «Best EPC/EPCM Company in Energy Sector,» «Best EPC/EPCM Company on Foreign Markets,» «Best EPC/EPCM Company in Oil and Gas Industry,» «Breakthrough of the Year: Most Promising EPC/EPCM Company,» «EPC/EPCM: Person of the Year,» «Effective Management by EPC/EPCM Company,» «Effective Management by Customer» and «Grand Prix: EPC/EPC – Company of the Year.»

Representatives of Technopromexport, RUSAL, Atomstroyexport, Norilsk Nickel, Gazprom Neft, HydroOGK, ALROSA and other Russian and foreign companies will attend the awarding ceremony. The awarding will be followed by a press-conference of the winners.

The conference «Management of Investment Projects: Solutions for Consumers and EPC/EPCM Companies» is to take place in Ararat Park Hyatt Hotel. 

The conference will start at 10:00 AM, the awarding ceremony — at 4:00 PM.
