Capacity of unit 2 of Kursk NPP reduced to 50%

The capacity of the 2nd unit of Kursk NPP has been reduced to 50%

Today, the technological protection system of Kursk Nuclear Power Plant stopped the plant’s 3rd turbine generator. The 2nd unit of the plant is working but its capacity has been reduced to 50%.

Kursk NPP is operating safely. The radiation background at the plant and in the nearby area is within norm.

As soon as the problem is removed the turbine generator will be restarted.

Units 1, 2 and 4 are in service, unit 3 under repair.
