Turbine generator 3 of 2nd unit of Kursk NPP restarted

Turbine generator 3 of the 2nd unit of Kursk NPP was restarted today, Mar 27, at 11:30 AM

The generator was stopped on Mar 26 by the unit’s process protection systems with the capacity of the unit reduced to 50%.

Presently, the capacity of the 2nd unit is being raised.

Kursk NPP is operating safely.

The 1st, 2nd and 4th units are in service, the 3rd unit is being overhauled.

The radiation background at Kursk NPP and in the nearby area is within norm.
