TVEL welcomes Energoatom-Westinghouse contract

TVEL Corporation welcomes the fuel supply contract between Energoatom (Ukraine) and Westinghouse (the United States) as a proof that Energoatom is ready to work according to the European free market principles, says the first vice president of TVEL Vladimir Rozhdestvensky.

“Until now the contracts between Energoatom and TVEL have been of exclusive nature, and the price has been formed by subjective factors mostly. The plans of Energoatom to diversify its suppliers show that the Ukrainian company seeks to work with all suppliers on equal conditions in compliance with the market economy rules,” says Rozhdestvensky.

TVEL is sure that the negotiations over the contract for the supply of fuel to Ukrainian NPPs after 2010 will be based on these very principles.
