Atomenergoprom is presenting the capacities of the Russian nuclear industry at Atomtech 2008 international exhibition
The 8th International Forum “Fuel and Energy Complex of Russia” and the 4th International Specialized Exhibition “Atomtech 2008” is taking place in St.Petersburg Apr 8–10 2008.
Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation and Atomenergoprom OJSC are presenting the capacities of Russia’s nuclear industry. The business program of Atomtech 2008 includes international conference “Development of Nuclear Power Engineering: Safety and Efficiency” with focus on innovative energy technologies, meetings on the development prospects of small- and medium-capacity nuclear power plants, nuclear equipment, construction of Leningrad NPP-2, a roundtable “Thermonuclear Energy: Energy of the Future,” to be held by the president of Kurchatov Institute Y.Velikhov.
In the last four years Atomtech has become one of the most authoritative Russian forums for exchange of experience and business meetings among specialists from different regions of Russia and foreign states.
Atomenergoprom OJSC is a state holding that is supposed to comprise 89 nuclear companies and to cover the whole range of nuclear services: from uranium mining to NPP construction and electricity production. Atomenergoprom’s companies will have a total of 175,000 employees and an annual production of 200bln RUR (5.5bln EUR).
Atomenergoprom is one of the biggest players on the world market: it has a 40% share in the world’s uranium enrichment services, 17% in nuclear fuel production, 8% in uranium mining, 28% in NPP construction (10 reactors). The director of Atomenergoprom is Vladimir Travin, the chairman of the board of directors – Sergey Kiriyenko.
