Capacity of Balakovo NPP reduced

The capacity of Balakovo NPP was reduced on Apr 8 following failure of Kuibyshevskaya1-Kuibyshevskaya 2 power transmission line

Unit 4 has been switched off and is now operating at a capacity of 40MW. The capacities of units 2 and 3 have been reduced by 30%. Unit 1 is operating at a nominal capacity of 1,000MW.

The radiation situation at Balakovo NPP and in the nearby area is within norm.

As soon as the energy system is ready, unit 4 will be restarted.
