Unit 1 of Kursk NPP was restarted on Apr 8 at 07:52 PM

The unit was stopped on Apr 6 by the process protection system following loss of synchronization of turbine generator 1 with the energy system.

The capacity of the unit is being raised.

The stoppage of the unit posed no threat to either Kursk NPP or its nearby area. Kursk NPP is operating safely and efficiently.

Units 1 and 4 are in service, units 2 and 3 are under maintenance.

The radiation background at Kursk NPP and in the nearby area is within norm.
