Director General of Rosatom State Corporation Sergey Kiriyenko meets with Prime Minister of Mongolia Sanjiyn Bayar

The parties are going to cooperate under international projects for mining uranium along the Russian-Mongolian border.

A year ago Russia and Mongolia signed a protocol for development of cooperation in the field of prospecting, mining and processing of uranium in their territories.

After the meeting Kiriyenko told journalists that Russia might build a small- or medium-capacity nuclear power plant in Mongolia.

“The Prime Minister of Mongolia has confirmed the wish of his country to start developing a project to build small- or medium-capacity NPPs and we are ready to join in,” Kiriyenko said.
