Veterans of Kola NPP sing songs about their plant
On May 21 veterans of Kola NPP marked the 35th anniversary of their plant.
They sang the songs of their youth: about the Komsomol construction campaign, about Kola NPP, about Polyarnye Zori.
“We remembered our youth, the days when we were launching the first units of the Polar giant, Kola Nuclear Power Plant. We remembered our friends who left Polranye Zori and scattered all over our great country. We remembered the times when we were a team of enthusiasts,” says the chairwoman of the Organization of Veterans of Kola NPP Tamara Trofimova.
The Organization of Veterans of Kola NPP was established last year and comprises almost 1,000 pensioners. They are actively involved in all cultural and sports events of the plant and organize a lot of meetings, parties, contests and, of course, training courses for young specialists.
“Shortly the Organization of Veterans of Kola NPP is planning to organize a meeting with poets and to take part in a contest of arts and crafts “Energy of the North.” These events are also dedicated to the jubilee of Kola NPP,” says the deputy director of Kola NPP Igor Kuruzov.
The 35th birthday of Kola Nuclear Power Plant will be celebrated on June 27–29 2008. The program of the celebrations includes cultural and sports events for children and youths of the city and the region as well as for the former and present employees of Kola NPP.
