On May 23 the Emergency Center of Rosenergoatom Concern in Novovoronezh hosted joint bilateral three-stage tactical-special exercise “Spring 2008”

Representatives of the federal and local authorities, the heads of the military and security services of Voronezh region, the inter-service team of the Chief Department of Internal Affairs, the forces of the Emergency Ministry, the aviation of the Interior Ministry, the Emergency Center of Rosenergoatom Concern – over 1,500 people — attended the exercise.

The participants in the exercise drilled their ability to effectively interact during special operations for preventing acts of sabotage and acts of terrorism, liberating hostages, stopping disorders, eliminating the consequences of technogenic terrorism.

The trainees used water canons and tear gas. The teams of the Emergency Ministry and the Emergency Center of Rosenergoatom Concern demonstrated their ability to put out fire and to decontaminate territory. The head of the Chief Department of Internal Affairs for Voronezh region, Lieut. Gen. Oleg Khotin commended the trainees for their high efficiency and pointed out that they had fulfilled all of the tasks set during the exercise. He pointed out that the Voronezh military and security services are always ready to protect people and strategic facilities in the territory of the region.
