Team of Leningrad NPP has left for Kurchatov to take part in the 5th Summer Spartakiad «Sport NPP 2008»

A delegation of Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant has left for Kurchatov to take part in the 5th Summer Spartakiad of Workers of Rosenergoagom Concern «Sport NPP 2008» to be held May 28-June 1 2008.

Teams of nine nuclear power plants and the Central Office of Rosenergoatom Concern and Atomenergoprom will contend in 10 sports events.

The delegation of Leningrad NPP consists of 38 people and will take part in all events except swimming (women).

Our team is quite strong. In 2007 they showed quite good results. Our tennis players were the second at the Cup of Kurchatov in Mar 2007. In Dec 2007 Pavel Durnyov won the second place at an international tournament at Kalinin NPP.

The «Neutron» football team is the winner of the futsal cup and championship of Leningrad region in 2007 and the bronze medalist of the futsal tournament among nuclear workers. The volleyball team is the holder of the cup and the silver medalist of the championship of Sosnovy Bor, the winner of the inter-city snow volleyball tournament in St.Petersburg, the bronze medalist of the open tournament among nuclear workers.

Our ping pong player Oleg Kurlayev was the third in the championship of Leningrad region and the seventh in the championship of Russia in 2007.

Four players of our volleyball team are in the combined team of Atom-Sport Club and took part in the 2nd International Games of Laborers in Albena (Bulgaria).

While seeing the team off the deputy director of Leningrad NPP N.Kirillov wished them good luck. He promised to come to Kursk NPP in a couple of days and to support our sportsmen.
