Winners of preliminary round of “Best in Profession” contest of Novovoronezh NPP

On May 22 the Chemical Department of Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant conducted preliminary round of the “Best in Profession” contest among the workers of the Chemical Analysis Laboratory.

The objective of the contest is to enhance the prestige of the work of chemists, to make known their achievements and experience and to shape positive attitude towards their profession.

This is the first round of the corporate workmanship contest. It consisted of theory and practice. The contestants were given 30 minutes for answering the theoretical questions and provided with necessary materials, uniform and means of protection for showing their practical skills.

The key assessment criterion for theory was the quantity of correct answers, for practice – the amount of time spent on the execution of a task.

The top three are Maria Yefimova, Yekaterina Solntseva and Oksana Kalyapina – all from the Chemical Analysis Laboratory of the 5th unit.
 
The Chemical Department is one of the oldest departments of Novovoronezh NPP. It was opened in 1962 – two years before the launch of the 1st unit. It produces up to 2,400 tons of chemically clean water and carries out almost 450 chemical tests a day.
