Firemen of Balakovo NPP show high efficiency

On May 29 Balakovo NPP conducted traditional contest among the volunteer fire squads of its department

26 teams took part in the contest. The jury, chaired by the deputy chief engineer of Balakovo NPP Yuri Svezhintsev, pointed out the high preparedness and efficiency of all the teams.

The Reactor 1 Department was the best among the men’s teams. The Electric Department was the second, the Chemical Department – the third. The Warehousing Department was the best among the women’s teams with the chemical and heating and subsurface communications departments being the second and the third, respectively.

The IAEA OSART experts who are presently inspecting Balakovo NPP observed the contest. One of them, Hilbert McSwell (the United States) even took part in the first stage of the relay race and was granted a special certificate.

So, our “nuclear” firemen have shown their efficiency on the international level.
