1st unit of Kalinin NPP to be stopped for maintenance

The 1st unit of Kalinin NPP will be stopped May 31-June 2 for short-term maintenance

The plant is planning to remove defects in low-pressure heaters 3 and 4.

The unit will be restarted June 2 evening.

Presently, the plant is operating two reactors. They are working safely at a total capacity of 2,075MW. The 3rd unit is under maintenance.

The radiation background at Kalinin NPP and in the nearby area is within norm.

Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant is situated in the north of Tver region and covers the energy shortfalls in Central Russia. It has three 1000MW WWER (PWR) reactors and supplies energy via 2 330KV and 4 750KV power transmits lines.
