4th touristic rally of nuclear workers “Energy of the Baltic Sea” is taking place at Leningrad NPP (Sosnovy Bor) June 28-July 3
Teams from Balakovo, Volgodonsk, Kalinin, Kola, Leningrad and Smolensk NPPs, Nuclear Energy Institute (St.Petersburg) and Yuventa youth sports club (Sosnovy Bor) are taking part in the rally:
The first two days have already passed. The team of Volgodonsk NPP are showing the best results: they have already won three gold medals (Best Welcoming Address contest, water tourism, combined relay race) and one bronze medal in rock-climbing. The team of Smolensk NPP have won two silver medals and one gold medal in rock-climbing.
The teams of Leningrad NPP and Nuclear Energy Institute are in the third position: LNPP has one silver medal for combined relay race, NEI – two bronze medals for the Best Welcoming Address and water tourism.
The teams of Balakovo and Kola NPP are the smallest (11 and 5 people respectively) but they are showing worthy rivalry to their colleagues from other plants. Balakovo NPP has won one silver medal in rock-climbing, Kola NPP – one bronze medal in combined relay race.
The program of July 2l includes street-ball as well as quizzes in geography, biology, medicine, local history and nuclear power engineering.
The rally will finish on July 3 with orienteering. The awarding ceremony will take place the same day evening. The winners will be granted cups, medals and certificates.
Each year “Energy of the Baltic Sea” is attracting more and more people and is enlarging its geography. It has long become a bridge of friendship between different nuclear power plants.
