Leningrad NPP has generated 750bln KWh since 1973

As of July 1 Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant had generated a total of 750bln KWh since its launch in Dec 1973.

Since the beginning of this year the plant has produced 13.303bln KWh, in June – 2.123bln KWh.

Presently, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th units of Leningrad NPP are operating safely at a total capacity of 2,960MW.

At the 1st unit, stopped for overhaul on May 23 2008, the personnel have completed the supersonic testing of 478 welded joins of the DU-300 pipeline, are repairing generator 1 and replacing the stator of generator 2.

Leningrad NPP is operating safely and efficiently.

The radiation background at the plant and in the nearby area is within norm.
