3rd International Futsal Tournament is over

The 3rd International Futsal Tournament, organized by TVEL Corporation and Energoatom National Nuclear Energy Company, took place in Kuznetsovsk (Rivno region, Ukraine) on July 4–6

The teams of TVEL companies and Ukrainian nuclear power plants took part in the tournament. This year there was a debutant — the team of the biggest uranium company of Ukraine, VostGOK.

This year the tournament was conducted at Rivno Nuclear Power Plant, which was also the host of the 1st tournament in 2006.

The first vice president of Energoatom Ivan Foltov welcomed the teams and the guests and pointed out that the business partnership between TVEL and Energoatom was stably developing. “This is confirmed by not only improving economic performance but also enlarging and deepening cooperation. The joint organization of the futsal tournament is one of the vivid examples of our strong partnership in business and social sectors,” Foltov said.

The vice president of TVEL Corporation Kosntantin Sokolov pointed out that Energoatom was one of the key strategic partners of TVEL. “This tournament, just like our other joint projects, is aimed at enlarging and deepening Russian-Ukrainian cooperation and developing the business and friendly ties between our companies,” Sokolov said.

The hosts, the team of Rivno NPP, were the strongest. Anton Saltykov from Chepetsk mechanical Plant was proclaimed the best scorer, Albert Safronov from Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrate Plant – the best player, Yuri Krysuk from Rivno NPP – the best goalkeeper.

Among the guests were representatives of nuclear companies of Russia and Ukraine, the heads of the administrations of Kuznetsovsk and Rivno region, honored nuclear workers of both countries.

During a press conference the mayor of Kuznetsovsk Vladimir Korovkin said that the managers of TVEL and Energoatom paid high attention to the physical health of their employees and their efforts were a good example for other organizations of Russia and Ukraine.

The winners of the tournament were granted cups made from Ukrainian zirconium at Chepetsk Mechanical Plant (Glazov, Udmurtia, Russia).

Note

TVEL and Energoatom have been cooperating for many years already and have carried out a whole number of joint projects in the spheres of culture, sport and education.

The futsal tournament has been conducted annually since 2006. This year the companies have also conducted  the 3rd contest of art works by the children of employees of TVEL companies and Ukrainian NPPs.

In 2007 TVEL and Energoatom carried out a series of social projects dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the nuclear power industry of Ukraine. Particularly, they built sports grounds for children in the satellite cities of Ukrainian NPPs and conducted a number of festivals and exhibitions.

For three years already the parties have organized summer holidays for the children of employees of Ukrainian NPPs and TVEL companies.

Presently, the companies are conducting a contest of essays on nuclear physics by schoolchildren from the satellite cities of TVEL plants and Ukrainian NPPs. Shortly, the parties are planning to jointly publish text books for specialized universities of Ukraine in Russian and Ukrainian languages.
