In early Dec the metrological service of Bilibinskaya NPP was given certificate for calibration activities till 2010

The special certification commission consisted of the metrology expert of Atomtrutresursy V. Shevchenko, the acting director of the Metrology Research Center I. Kirillov and the chief metrologist of Kolskaya NPP A. Ryzhov.

The chief metrologist of Bilibinskaya NPP Maxim Zhdanov comments on the results of the certification:

«The Commission has found out that the metrological service of the plant complies with the measuring equipment calibration norms. The certificate allows the NPP to carry out  calibration in the following types of measurements: geometric quantity, pressure and vacuum, flow rate, temperature, electric values, nuclear radiation field characteristics and nuclear constants, physical and chemical characteristics, time and frequency, radio-technical values, optic-physical measurements. As a result of the inspection, the Commission has approved of the plant’s infrastructure, the professional qualities of the personnel and the organization of the metrological activities.»

«The Metrological Service of Bilibinskaya NPP was set up in 2003 and consists of 7 highly qualified experts. Presently, we are preparing for measuring equipment control certification. We carry out complex measuring of equipment parameters and set and define the metrological characteristics of new supersonic flow-meters. In order to ensure the safety of the plant, we control the state and operation of the measuring equipment, develop calibration methods and have measuring instruments inspected at third organizations in Moscow, Magadanm Khabarovsk and other cities.»
