Trade Union conference held at Balakovskaya NPP

During its Dec 15 annual meeting the Trade Union Committee of Balakovskaya NPP summed up the results of the activities of its last five years

The deputy director general-the director for personnel, social and administrative issues of Rosenergoatom D.Tkebuchava, the head of the Department for Social Programs V. Cherkasov, the head of the Department for Labor Organization, Wages and Social Guarantees V. Kostuk and the head of the Administrative-Economic Department A. Astashkin took part in the meeting.

The conferees gave a positive assessment of the work of the trade union committee. «This assessment confirms the Committee’s efficiency in solving the plant’s industrial and social tasks in line with the corporate programs,» Deputy Director General of Rosenergoatom-Director of Balakovskaya NPP V. Ignatov said.
 
In the last fives years the NPP has repeatedly won the All-Russian Competition «High Social Efficiency Enterprise,» has been proclaimed «The Best NPP of Russia» and this year was ranked among the best 100 enterprises of Russia during the competition «The 1,000 Best Enterprises and Organizations of Russia-2006.»

The conferees noted that effective social protection is a good stimulus for personnel efficiency. During the accountable period, the wages at the plant grew quicker than inflation. Since 2001 it has risen by 2.5 times against 1.7-time inflation growth. The average salary at the Balakovskaya NPP is one of the highest among the Rosenergoatom NPPs. The plant is the leader of the corporate mortgage crediting program. The employees of the plant enjoy the opportunity to have a rest or improve their health at the best sanatoriums of Russia under preferential voucher and health recovery programs.

Balakovskaya is an example of effective social partnership policy.

«Such mutual understanding between administration and trade union is possible when things are going fine,» Tkebuchava said.

P. Sorokin was unanimously elected as the chairman of the plant’s trade union committee. He has been the chairman of the committee for already 18 years.

A big group of employees received veteran and honor certificates for their services to the plant.
