The BN-600 operated at nominal capacity

On Dec 17, 2006, the BN-600 unit of Beloyarskaya NPP fulfilled the annual production plan.

No changes in the radiation background or deviations from the safety norms were registered during the week. The emission of neutral gases was 0.01% of the admissible level.

The radiation situation in the town of Zarechny and the nearby area was within norm.

The radiation background in the town was no more than 5.0 micro roentgen/hour (0.05 micro sievert/hour), while the natural radiation background in the territory of Russia is 4–20 micro roentgen/hour (0.04–0.2 micro sievert/hour).
