Kursk NPP fulfills annual plan

On Dec 25, 2006, 8:10 PM, Kursk NPP fulfilled its annual plan to produce 24.170bln KWh

Since the beginning of the year the plant produced 545,000 Gcal of net heat or 106.6% of the plan.

Since its launch the plant has produced over 583.461bln KWh.

The 1st, 3rd and 4th units are operative, the 2nd unit is being overhauled.

The radioactive emission is within norm. On Dec 25, 2006, the gamma-radiation background ranged within 0.07–0.14 micro sievert/hour, which is the same as before the launch of the plant in 1975.
