Rosatom takes part in AtomTECH-2007

10.04.2007 // Center for Information and Exhibition Activities of the Nuclear Power Industry (Atomexpo)

14 enterprises represent Rosatom exposition at AtomTECH-2007

3rd Specialized Exhibition “AtomTECH: Nuclear Power Engineering-2007” is to be held in St. Petersburg on Apr 10–12 in the framework of the 7th International Forum “Fuel-Energy Complex of Russia: Regional Aspects.” This prestigious international exhibition is conducted by the Federal Agency of Nuclear Energy and is of special interest for Rosatom.

14 enterprises represent Rosatom’s exposition: Rosenergoatom, TVEL, A.I.Leipunsky Physics and Energy Institute, Red Star FSUE, Lutch Scientific Industrial Association, I.I.Afrikantov Experimental Design Bureau of Machine Building, Central Design Bureau of Machine Building, N.L.Dukhov All-Russian Research Institute of Automatics, Y.Y. Sedakov Research Institute of Measuring Systems, SVERD JSC, Research Institute of Nuclear Reactors, Atomenergoproject (St.Petersburg), Dedal FSUE, Electrogorsk Research Center.

One of the sponsors of the forum, TVEL Corporation, will present detailed information about its activities. Its stand will display fuel assemblies of new generation for power and research reactors, particularly, a big dummy of TBCA fuel assembly.

OKMB (I.I.Afrikantov Experimental Design Bureau of Machine Building) will exhibit new reactor designs, primarily, the BN-800 fast-breeder reactor that is being built at Beloyarsk NPP as well as low and medium-capacity reactors designed for isolated consumers in remote areas with no centralized energy supply: KLT-40C, ABV, ATEC-80, ATEC-200 and, especially, VBER-300 marine heterogeneous reactor with a capacity of 300 MW.

Physics and Energy Institute will exhibit low-capacity designs: pool-type reactor RUTA and modular portable heat and power plant ATEC BN GT-300/100 based on natrium-cooled fast reactor.

Lutch will present ceramic and synthetic corundum products, mono-crystal barred silicon, cermet micro fuel-based elements. During a roundtable on Apr 11 the director general of the company, Professor I.Fedik will make a report on cermet fuel elements.

The Research Institute of Pulse Engineering will offer a wide spectrum of test equipment: multi-channel pulsed X-radiation spectrometers, chronographic and X-ray electronic and optical recorders.

Y.Y. Sedakov Research Institute of Measuring Systems will present NPP Automated Process Control System for NPP-2006 project. This system has been successfully tested at the 3rd unit of Kalinin NPP. A similar system is being made for Kudankulam NPP (India).

Atomenergoproject (St.Petersburg) will exhibit WWER-640, WWER-1500 and BN-800 reactor designs and will show a computer film about the Leningrad NPP-2 project. LNPP-2 is the testing ground of NPP-2006 project, “the locomotive of nuclear energy development in Russia.” The project is part of the Federal Target Program “Development of the Nuclear Power Complex of Russia in 2007–2010 and Till 2015.” AtomTECH-2007 is supposed to reveal new approaches to this project.
