On Apr 19 2007 the parties to the construction of the 2nd unit of Rosatov NPP, Rosenergoatom and Rosatomstroy, summed up the results of Mar 2007

133mln RUR was to be spent on the project in Mar. Rosenergoatom, the owner, and Rosatomstroy, the general contractor, confirmed that the plan had been fulfilled.

The Dead of the NPP Construction Department of Rosatomstroy O.Vitko said: “We have removed all the key deterrents and now the project complies with the schedule. But I would like to point out that we give priority to quality and safety rather than speed.”

The construction is gaining momentum: the preparations for the installation of the polar crane are over and on Apr 17 the installers started the basic project. This stage is an important part of the general project as without the crane it will be impossible to install the reactor vessel.

Despite strong winds, the personnel have already mounted the crane of the machine room, which will allow them to mount the roof in time.

A total of 55 basic and supplementary projects are being implemented on the site at present.

The equipment is delivered in time. Over 330mln RUR was allocated for the purchase of equipment in Jan-Mar 2007. 1,000 km of cable and 7,500 units of armature will be bought shortly through tenders.

A total of 33 contractor organizations are involved in the project. Even though as many as 2,207 people are involved in the work, Rosatomstroy is dynamically developing, creating new jobs and inviting highly-qualified specialists.

In Apr 1979 the Ministry of Medium Machine Building of USSR set up Orgtekhstroy-13 Project-Technological Trust. In Apr 2001 it was renamed into Rosatomstroy Investment-Construction Concern.
