Seminar “Nuclear Instrumentation 2007: Nuclear and Radiation Safety Support of Rosatom Facilities” was held at SNIPP scientific-engineering center Apr 18–19

The objective of the seminar was to exchange information on a wide spectrum of problems related to the nuclear and radiation safety support of Rosatom facilities. The seminar was organized by SNIIP and Atom-Innovation Center with the support of the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy.

The participants in the seminar considered innovative model of radiation control systems and individual dosimeters for nuclear facilities and nearby territories, particularly, nuclear and radiation safety systems for light-water and fast breeder reactors.

Almost 150 specialists from 52 Rosatom and Rosenergoatom organizations took part in the seminar. A total of 50 reports were made on the following subjects:

1. Radiation control and safety

2. Nuclear Safety

3. Instruments and individual dosimeters

4. Spectrometers

5. System control and testing

The participants in the seminar discussed the achievements and the prospects of nuclear instrumentation under the present nuclear energy development programs.

The next conference on nuclear instrumentation will be held in 2008.
