KNPP sums up the results of its labor protection activities

Apr 28 is the International Labor Day. On this occasion, the management of Kola NPP has summed up the results of its labor protection activities. In the last decade the trauma rate at the plant has been reduced to 0.7 accident a year. This is a very low index for a company employing 3,000 people. When KNPP was first launched, the index was 4.38 accidents a year.

How have they managed to attain such results?

Prevention of accidents and professional diseases is given special attention at the plant. The management are constantly improving the labor conditions at the plant. They timely buy means of individual protection. The key task for 2007 is operation and maintenance without traumas. For this purpose, the Labor Protection Department instructs the personnel, conducts days of labor, carries out labor protection inspections, ensures administrative and public control over safety, teaches first aid technique, cultivates individual responsibility, organizes lectures, consultations, demonstration of thematic films.

Since its very first day the plant has been steadily improving its labor conditions. Today, the employees can really feel the results of this work. They are brought to work by comfortable buses, wear modern uniforms, work on high-quality equipment. The work places are comfortable, the micro-climate in working teams is favorable. Every year the management carry out repairs of the premises and medical examination of the personnel. Those with health problems are sent to sanatoriums. Every year the management spend more on the improvement of labor conditions at the plant.
