The International Contest of Children’s Drawings “Peaceful Atom is the Future of the World”

The first (elimination) round of the International Contest of Children’s Drawings “Peaceful Atom is the Future of the World,” organized by TVEL and Energoprom (Ukraine), is over. Over 80 children from Novosibirsk, Glazov (Udmurtia), Elektrostal (Moscow region), Krasnokamensk (Chita region) and the Ukrainian towns of Kuznetsovsk, Neteshin, Slavutich, Energodar and South-Ukrainskaya have been selected for the final round to be held in Moscow.

The awarding of the winners will take place at State Tretyakovskaya Gallery on May 18 with the participation of managers of Rosatom, TVEL and Energoatom and officials of the Energy Ministry of Ukraine.

After the awarding ceremony the children will be taken on excursions around Moscow and Kyiv.

This year the International Contest of Children’s Drawings involves over 200 pupils — children of employees of Elemash, Chepetsk Mechanical Plant, Novosibirsk Plant of Chemical Concentrates, Khmelnitsky, Zaporizhie, South-Ukrainian and Rivno NPPs (Ukraine). The contest is aimed at cultivating positive attitude towards nuclear energy among children and strengthening social and cultural ties between Ukraine and Russia.
