Rostekhnadzor has set new requirements to the composition and content of documents concerning the nuclear and radiation safety of nuclear power facilities

The head of Rostekhnadzor (the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Control) Konstantin Pulikovsky has set new requirements to the composition and content of documents concerning the nuclear and radiation safety of nuclear power facilities.

The requirements concern the documents proving that a company seeking a license for the use of nuclear energy and the operation of nuclear power facilities complies with the nuclear and radiation safety standards.

The content of the documents should comply with the requirements of the normative documents that are in force at the moment of application.

The content of the documents should prove that the company applying for a license complies with the rules of physical protection of nuclear materials, nuclear units and nuclear materials storage facilities as well as with other relevant standards.

The requirements concern the companies seeking to build a nuclear unit, a nuclear materials storage facility, a radioactive waste storage facility, to operate a nuclear unit, to design a nuclear unit, radiation sources and nuclear fuel and waste storage facilities.

A company failing to meet the requirements may be denied a license.
