Since Dec 1973 Leningrad NPP has produced 724.115bln KWh
Since the beginning of 2007 the plant has generated 11.856bln KWh out of 24.210bln KWh planned for 2007, in June — 875mln KWh.
Today, June 15, Leningrad NPP has three operating units – 2nd, 3rd and 4th – which are working at a total capacity of 2,500 MW.M
1st unit was stopped for planned repair on June 11. The safety systems will be checked up. The repair personnel will test the base welds of the distributing collectors and the multiple controlled circulation system so as to detect and remove possible defects. They will also inspect 55 assembly channels and the reactor joints, replace the power-control rods, etc..
The plant is operating safely.
The radiation situation at the plant and in the nearby area, Sosnovy Bor, is within norm. The maximum radiation in the area is 0.15 mSv/h, which is normal for the given region.
The data of the Automated Radiation Control System is open for all concerned round-the-clock on the web-site of LNPP.
