Capacity of 5th unit of Novovoronezh NPP reduced

The 14th turbine generator of the 5th unit of Novovoronezh NPP was stopped by the automatic protection system on June 18 10:28 AM

The capacity of the unit has been reduced by 500 MW. The personnel are inquiring into the incident.

The plant is operating safely. The 4th unit is operating at 800 MW, the 3rd unit is under repair till June 30.

The radiation background at the plant and in the nearby area is within norm.
