2nd unit of Kursk NPP restarted

2nd unit of Kursk NPP has been restarted

The unit’s turbine N4 is gradually gaining capacity.

The unit was stopped by automatic protection system on June 25. The stoppage posed no threat to the NPP or the neighboring area. It was a zero incident on INES scale. The causes of the stoppage have been removed.

Presently, all the units of Kursk NPP are in service. The 1st unit was restarted today, June 28, at 8:11 AM after planned repairs.

The plant is operating safely.

The radiation background at the plant and in the nearby area is within norm.
