Eugenya Lamonova from Kurchatov fencing school has won gold at European Fencing Championships

Eugenya Lamonova, from Kurchatov fencing school, has won gold medal in Ladies Foil Individual at the European Fencing Championships in Gent (Belgium). In the final she beat two-time Olympic champion Valentina Vezzali (Italy) 13:12.

In the semi-final she won no less important victory beating the acting world champion Margherita Granbassi (Italy).

This is the first medal of Russia at the championships.
