Kalinin NPP is conducting fire prevention exercise

Today, July 5. Kalinin NPP is conducting a fire prevention exercise. The topic is long-term black-out at the 1st and 2nd units with the failure of the diesel generators of the safety systems at the 1st unit.

The plant is working safely.

The radiation background at the plant and in the nearby area is within norm.

Such exercises are conducted regularly with a view to improve the personnel’s response to emergencies, to inspect the preparedness of the personnel and equipment to liquidate the consequences of an emergency and to enhance the efficiency of inter-action and information exchange during emergencies.
