1st unit of Kursk NPP was restarted on July 24 2007 at 1:33 PM

The unit was stopped on July 4 because of leaks in the industrial water pipeline.

The problem has been removed. All the systems of the unit were thoroughly tested before the restart.

The stoppage posed no threat to the NPP and the environment.

Presently, all the four units of Kursk NPP are in service and are operating at a total capacity of 3100 MW.

The plant is working safely and efficiently.

The radiation background at the plant and in the nearby area is within the natural limits.
