New church to be built in Udomlia (Kalinin NPP)

The foundations of a Church of the Transfiguration have been laid in the territory of the preventive clinic of Kalinin NPP

The foundations of a new church were laid in Udomlia, Tver region, on July 28, the holiday of St. Vladimir. The church will be located in the territory of the preventive clinic of Kalinin NPP.

Archbishop of Tver and Kashino Viktor blessed the construction. He reminded those present that this church, just like the existing Prince Vladimir Cathedral, is being built on the initiative of the management of Kalinin NPP.

The director of Kalinin NPP Leonid Martynovchenko said that the church will be finished at the same time with the preventive clinic by the end of this year. He said that the plant will continue this program: “There are a number of abandoned churches in Udomlia district and we are planning to reconstruct them.” This year Rosenergoatom Concern has granted 9mln RUR for charity with 30% of the money to be spent on churches.
