Foreign nuclear decontamination experts are meeting at Smolensk NPP

Nuclear decontamination experts from Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Hungary and the Czech Republic met at Smolensk NPP, today, on Aug 20, to inspect decontamination technologies used at Smolensk NPP (Russia) and Zaporizhia NPP (Ukraine), the supersonic metal decontamination method that is being developed and introduced at Khmelnitsky NPP (Ukraine), the unmanned decontamination technology, the new methods for measuring radioactive contamination. They will also test new nuclear decontamination technologies.

Rosenergoatom Concern actively helps its NPPs in their international contacts for ensuring the introduction of modern nuclear radiation safety technologies.

The meeting will last till Aug 24 2007.
