Unit 2 of Balakovo NPP stopped for planned repairs

On Aug 31 2007 at 2:00 AM unit 2 of Balakovo NPP was stopped for planned overhaul

During the repairs the personnel will refuel the reactor in line with Rosenergoatom’s NPP repair schedule 2007.

Unit 1 is also under repairs. Units 3 and 4 are operating at full capacity.

The plant is operating safely and efficiently.

The radiation background at the plant and in the nearby area is within norm.
