On Sept 13 unit 4 of Novovoronezh NPP will be stopped for planned preventive repairs

On Sept 13 2007 unit 4 of Novovoronezh NPP will be stopped for planned preventive repairs and refueling. The repairs will last for 80 days.

During the repairs the personnel is supposed to overhaul the reactor system.

Presently, units 3, 4 and 5 are operating at planned capacity.

The radiation situation at the plant is within norm.

The averaged gamma background at the plant, in Novovoronezh and at the 20 points monitored by the Automated Radiation Control System sensors installed in 13 settlements of the 30-km zone was within norm.
