13.09.2007 // Information Department of Leningrad NPP/Press service of AIB

During the forthcoming emergency training at Leningrad NPP insurance companies will practice mass insurance indemnity technology

On Sept 19–21 2007 Atomic Insurance Broker (AIB) and the leaders of the Russian Nuclear Insurance Pool (RNIP), SOGAZ and MAKC (Moscow Joint Stock Insurance Company) will take part in the complex emergency training at Leningrad NPP. AIB represents Rosenergoatom Concern at RNIP.

Every year Rosenergoatom, AIB and RNIP (a pool of 23 biggest insurance companies of Russia) make nuclear damage liability contracts, which say that in case of emergency evacuated people should be paid compensation within 3–7 days so as to be able to move to and settle down in other areas of Russia.

Tens of thousands of people may be evacuated during the training. They will be taken to different areas. So, insurance companies need a technology of compensation. It may be different for different NPPs.

During this particular training, the participant insurance companies will test their compensation technologies and will practice interaction with one another and Rosenergoatom in case of accident.
